No clouds but still it rained

Year 1 are learning about Workers in our Community this term. We were very fortunate to have a visit from Platoon C from Drummoyne Fire Station. We learnt about the role Fire Officers have, the protective clothing they wear, the equipment they use and what to do in an emergency. The best part was when we got to use the fire hose! Cool!

  1. It was awesome because we got to go into their truck and use the high pressure hose and change the settings on it. We even got to wet people. The fireman put both their suits on. One was for bushfires and one was for a fire in a house.
We also got to put their hats on.

  3. Year 1, I thought fire fighters help to put out fires not water the clouds. Yes, it was totally awesome having the Fire Brigade come to our school and allow us to go through their truck and to use some of their equipment, especially the hose! I definitely learnt a lot about the role of the fire fighter in our community. Did you? Mrs Bridle
